Mordecai Historic Park
The foundation of a Raleigh Christmas starts at the Mordecai Historic Park located at 1 Mimosa St., a half mile north of the State capital on Wake Forrest Rd. A Raleigh Urban treasure of history and tradition offers traditional wreaths and garland on the historic buildings at the site. A winter garden of salad greens grows in the heirloom vegetable garden as the site's orchard rest for the winter.
Rooted in Raleigh's Christmas Past. The Mordecai Historic Park is the home of a President's Birthplace, Raleigh oldest home on it's original foundation and a traditional garden and orchard.
Once a grand plantation now an urban historic location. The Mordecai land is some of the most historic land in Raleigh.
Once known as Mordecai Grove, Raleigh's Oakwood neighborhood was built around the land donated by the Mordecai family to build a confederate soldier and Hebrew cemetery. A small Bungalow neighborhood which is known as Mordecai surrounds the once largest plantation in Wake county.

Guided Lantern tours with period actors in traditional costumes offer a glimpse of Christmas before Christmas lights and Reindeer names. Check back next year at RaleighChristmasEvents.com for Holiday events at the Mordecai Historic Park.

Raleigh Christmas Tree

On this night an old Scrooge with the soul of wood is acting up a storm at Memorial Theater. A Christmas tradition when the Raleigh Little Theater fills the seats with the classic tale of Tiny Tim and the Christmas Ghost of past, present and future.
A cold snap has hit Raleigh, Coats and Gloves are the reminder of our lost days inside by a fire and a glowing NC Christmas tree. A time to reflect on the anticipation of years, planting the seed and waiting twelve years to cut and ship your Christmas Tree to Raleigh in time for Christmas.
Jones Tree Farm can be found at the Kroger Shopping Center on Six Forks road. It is behind the gas station on Six Forks, just inside the Belt line near the Costco. Booger Mountain Trees can be found on Falls of the Neuse, South of Spring Forest Rd. Wagnor Christmas Trees are closer to town on Falls of the Neuse.
A Raleigh Christmas Tree is a very speacial tree. Our trees are grown in the soil which grows the White House Christmas Tree and our Governor's Mansion. Our citizens from our Mountains come to Raleigh and set up Christmas Tree lots all over the city.
There is no excuse to not have a NC Christmas tree in Raleigh since we get the pick of the liter From the NC Mountains.
Don't forget a Wreath for your front door.
